the board

Every run is kept. Most of them by you alone.

Your best, your last forty, and a board with a few friends on it if you want one. No strangers. Nothing to sign up to.

    An example. Yours starts empty.

    the brushes

    Six brushes. Not six colours.

Colour is the score, so a brush can never be a tint. What changes is the line: how long it holds, how it thins, how the ring closes.

sumi. Wet, round, even. The one you start with.

Five more to find. Three come with time. The other two have to be earned.

    the music

    The run builds the track.

A pad and a low sub start when the app does, and never stop. Everything above them you earn. The longer you last, the more turns up, until a good run is playing a track you built by not dying.

Warm melodic house, written for the game. It never starts by itself, and the control in the corner ends it.

    the ink

The better the run, the further the colour travels.

Your ink walks eight pigments as you climb. Most runs stop at three.

    how it plays

Three rules. That's all of it.

Four seconds to learn. Longer than that to keep.

    01

    Tap the lit dot.

The brush goes. The ink follows.

    02

    There is no timer.

The floor is the timer. Stop climbing and it finds you.

    03

    A miss costs a beat.

    A cross costs the run.

    An endless Inkline

    One line,
    unbroken.

Every row hides one safe mark. The page keeps falling. How high can you climb?
